The Presidential Office Building is a major landmark in downtown Taipei and currently serves as the office of the President of Taiwan and a venue for state ceremonies. Built during the Japanese colonial period, the building originally housed the Taiwan Governor-General’s Office before being converted into the Presidential Office, giving it a rich historical background. The building and its surrounding gardens are popular tourist attractions. Its exterior is highly distinctive; in addition, the public has limited opportunities to tour specific areas inside the building through guided tours.
