Mejores Tours y Viajes de Pirineos

The Pyrenees mountains create a natural border between France and Spain. The range stretches 270 miles with its highest point (Pico de Aneto) reaching 11,168 feet. Nestled among the mountains are many valleys and villages great for hiking, rafting, birding and other outdoor activities. The naturally beautiful region is home to Romanesque churches, prehistoric paintings and village street markets full of fresh produce. For snow-sport enthusiasts, Pyrenees ski resorts rival even the best in the Alps.

13-Day Spain, France and Italy Tour from Madrid to Rome: Barcelona, Florence and Nice | 5 Countries and 14 Cities | 12 Breakfasts, 1 Lunch, 5 Dinners

The Mediterranean experience was a trip of a lifetime!

You have an excellent staff that made the trip fun and safe. Blinky, our Tour Director, is the most positive person I have ever met. He treated all the travelers with utmost respect and consideration. He went above and beyond my expectations. The coach drivers, Nuno and Rocha, made the long rides enjoyable, and I always felt safe.

Preguntas frecuentes sobre tours de Pyrenees

What is the best time to hike the Haute Route in the Pyrenees?

The best time to hike the Haute Route in the Pyrenees is July to September. During these months, most snow has melted, mountain refuges are open, and weather is stable. Early July may still have some snow on higher passes, while October brings increased rainfall and colder temperatures, especially at elevation.

How do I travel to the Pyrenees from Toulouse Airport?

From Toulouse-Blagnac Airport, take the T2 bus to Toulouse Matabiau train station, then board a regional TER train to towns like Luchon, Tarbes, or Pau. For deeper access into the mountains, rent a car at the airport or station. Shuttle services also operate seasonally to resorts like Gavarnie or Cauterets.

Are mountain refuges (refuges gardés) open year-round in the Pyrenees?

No, most guarded mountain refuges in the Pyrenees are only open from mid-June to mid-September. Unstaffed refuges may be accessible off-season but lack supplies or heating. Always check with local tourist offices or the CAF (Club Alpin Français) for current opening status before planning overnight stays in remote areas.

Is the Pyrenees National Park free to enter and what are the rules for wild camping?

Yes, Pyrenees National Park is free to enter. Wild camping is prohibited within the park; you must camp in designated sites or refuges. Camping is allowed outside park boundaries under local regulations, typically only outside protected zones and for one night unless otherwise posted. Always follow leave-no-trace principles.
