This glorious historical edifice is the home of the Bundestag, Germany's national parliament. Damaged and abandoned for many years, the Reichstag underwent a reconstruction after the re-unification of East and West Germany in 1990, and is now a powerful symbol of national reconciliation. Designed by famed British architect Sir Norman Foster, the new Reichstag features a gigantic glass dome that replaced the cupola of the old building, and which offers visitors a stunning 360-degree view of Germany's capital, Berlin. Traces of the past were intentionally retained during reconstruction, including graffiti by Soviet soldiers from WWII.

What a journey! From Leipzig’s music history to Dresden’s stunning architecture, every day was amazing. Goslar’s medieval streets and Rammelsberg Mine Museum were highlights—who knew mining could be so cool? Free airport pickup was a plus, and the included dinner in Eisenach was delicious. 10/10 for sure!
