Like many cathedrals in Spain, the Primate Cathedral of Saint Mary of Toledo was built on the site of a former mosque, and took more than 200 years to complete. It is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Europe and is one of the three 13th-century High Gothic cathedrals in Spain. In fact, this must-see cathedral is considered to be the most important. Not to be missed is the cathedral’s sacristy, which contains paintings by El Greco, Caravaggio, Titian, Raphael and Velazquez.

From Madrid to Lisbon, every part of this trip was organized perfectly. The buses were comfortable, the hotels in Valencia and Seville were clean, and breakfasts were always fresh. We had a great time on our tour to Segovia and Toledo from Madrid. Very comfortable bus and we loved our guide Steffi! She was very informative as well as entertaining. Both city tours had both guided and personal time which was great. Toledo has lots of steps so if you have mobility issues take note. Segovia is our favorite and this was our second visit. The Alcuzar tour is not guided so read up on its history.....it's amazing! Thanks for a great day!
