This museum is itself is made of ice and located within the Chena Hot Springs resort. Open year-round, Aurora Ice Museum contains ice sculptures such as life-size knights battling each other, an ice fireplace and chess set in addition to themed galleries. It was built in 2004 to increase tourism to the resort and was re-designed in 2005 using geothermal resources. The museum features an ice chandelier that changes color every six seconds reminiscent of the Northern Lights as well as an ice bar.
