This upscale coastal city in Southern California is where many beach mansions of the rich and famous are located along the 27-mile stretch of pristine beaches. Celebrities who call Malibu home or at least one of their homes include Tom Hanks, Robert Redford, Barbara Streisand, Whoopi Goldberg, Richard Gere and Sting. Malibu wasn't incorporated until 1991 and originally was part of an 1802 land grant given to Spanish soldier Jose Bartolome Tapia.
