This oblong-shaped lake in British Columbia has a surface area of 136 square miles and depth of 249 feet. Okanagan Lake is surrounded by five Indian reservations and its name means "place of water" in the native Salish language. A serpent lake monster named Ogopogo is said to have been sighted there. The lake is a popular vacation and recreation spot with the lake reaching temperatures in the upper 70s during the summer.
