Best Place Garibaldi Day Trips & Things to Do

This baroque public square in Nice's Old Town was first created during the 18th century as Piazza Vittorio named after the Sardinian King Victor Amedee III. It was then renamed after Giuseppe Garibaldi, who was an Italian leader who wanted Nice to be annexed by Italy. Place Garibaldi was designed by Antoine Spinelli and a statue of Garibaldi was erected in the square in 1891. It is lined with cafes, restaurants, bars and shops.
