Best Scottish Parliament Building Tours & Trips

Perched on the eastern edge of Edinburgh's UNESCO World Heritage skyline, the Scottish Parliament Building offers more than legislative insight - it's a masterpiece of modern architecture framed by the ancient bulk of Arthur's Seat. Designed by Enric Miralles and completed in 2004, its timber beams and undulating rooflines echo the Scottish landscape, while the Debating Chamber's golden canopy draws sunlight deep into the heart of democracy. Visitors walk through the Garden Lobby, where stone paths mirror nearby Holyrood Park, and peer into committee rooms where laws shape Scotland's future. Adjacent to the historic Palace of Holyroodhouse and just below the Royal Mile, it stands as a bold contrast to Edinburgh's medieval spires - a transparent, dynamic symbol of contemporary Scotland inviting quiet reflection and informed exploration.

10-Day Britain Tour from London: York, Edinburgh and Liverpool | 2 Countries and 17 Cities | 9 Breakfasts, 1 Lunch, 3 Dinners

Our first visit outside the US, well surpassed all expectations!

I was pleased to cover so much ground and see different English & Scottish sites/cities while learning of the historical significance of each. There was absolutely NO WAY I could have planned such a thorough trip on my own. The Castles, Cathedrals, Cobblestones gave me a true sense of history. The scenic pastures, Highlands made me feel transported far away from Denver, Colorado! British historical novels will now take on a new meaning.
