[16 Pax] 5-Day Wales Discovery Tour from London: Snowdonia, Cardiff, Pembrokeshire, Conwy & St Davids

5 day Wales Tour

We enjoyed the tour very much with the one exception that there were at least two too many castles! The rest of the itinerary was great. Our tour guide Andy was cheerful, knowledgeable and helpful, looking up anything that was inquired about, and he kept all his passengers motivated with a "photo competition". The visit to the " Village Through Time" was very good and most interesting, giving a broad background to the rest of the tour. Perhaps more contact with the local people would add some variety, such as a visit to a local Farmers Market or fish markets at fishing village?

FAQs about Snowdonia Tours

What is the best time of year to hike Mount Snowdon without crowds?

Hike Mount Snowdon between mid-September and early November or from March to early May. These periods offer fewer crowds, clear conditions, and minimal rainfall. Avoid July and August, peak tourist months. Early morning starts (before 8 a.m.) also reduce congestion on trails like Pyg Track or Llanberis Path.

How do I get from Llanberis to the start of the Llanberis Path without a car?

Take the Snowdon Mountain Railway from Llanberis station to the summit trailhead, or walk the entire Llanberis Path starting directly in the village. Regular buses (e.g., TrawsCymru T2) serve Llanberis from Bangor and Caernarfon, connecting seamlessly to the path’s entrance.

Is the Snowdonia Explorer Pass valid for all attractions and transport in Eryri National Park?

The Snowdonia Explorer Pass covers entry to over 30 attractions, including castles and museums, and offers unlimited local bus travel on participating routes within Eryri. It does not include the Snowdon Mountain Railway or private cable cars. Purchase online or at Visit Wales centers.

What should I pack for unpredictable weather on a Snowdon summit attempt?

Pack waterproof and windproof layers, thermal base layers, sturdy hiking boots, gloves, a hat, and a detailed map/compass or GPS. Even in summer, temperatures can drop below 5°C with high wind chill. Carry extra food, water, and a headlamp - conditions change rapidly.
