Leave the hotel early in the morning and travel west along Highway 1 (Hwy 1). The steep and imposing Castle Mountain will come into view, and shortly after you will arrive at Lake Louise, one of the most famous lakes in the Rocky Mountains. Under the sunlight, the mineral-rich lake water shimmers with a stunning turquoise blue, embraced on three sides by the towering Victoria Glacier. Like a jade gem scattered among the mountains, it earns the reputation of the "Sapphire of the Rockies".
From the lakeside, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise stands quietly among the pine forests, welcoming visitors.
Continue to the top of the trail to Moraine Lake (seasonal opening). Its crystal-clear turquoise water contrasts beautifully with the jagged Ten Peaks. Standing at the overlook, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the lake and mountains, losing track of time in the stunning scenery.
After leaving Moraine Lake, proceed to Lake Louise Village for lunch (at own expense; Grill & Bar lunch available for upgrade).
Following lunch, continue westbound and pass through the Spiral Tunnels, built with the blood and sweat of Pacific Railway workers, before entering Yoho National Park. Arrive at the tranquil Emerald Lake, where red canoes glide across the peaceful, emerald-green water.
Next, visit the Natural Bridge, formed over centuries by the rushing waters of the Kicking Horse River. The river channel, pine trees, distant mountains and shallow shoals combine to create a picturesque scene. On the return journey, stop at Banff Town before driving back to Calgary.
